Mark Laughlin designs things people use.

Currently operating as Laughlin Studio and collaborating with select partners in the fields of product & service design and development, platform initiatives, and emerging technology experiences.

Prior to forming Laughlin Studio, Mark spent 7 years at Apple in California, where he led the Interactive Studio, a group of 550+ designers, creatives, experience designers, writers, strategists, and creative technologists. If you've used, learned about, shopped for or purchased an Apple product or service, or been to an Apple store, you've experienced the output of the Studio. He joined Apple in 2015 as Creative Director for the Interactive Retail group before taking lead of the entire studio as WW Head of Interactive in 2017.

Before Apple, he led the Toyota Platform Experience team at Saatchi Los Angeles, leading all digital product and service design, as well as partnering with Toyota's Connected Vehicle Team on the future of mobility, driverless transportation, and in-vehicle experiences.

Previously, he unified the Nike Brand & Digital Commerce platforms and pioneered the modern expression and service architecture of NIKEiD while Executive Creative Director on Nike at R/GA New York. He also co-founded the R/GA Los Angeles office.

Shaped by his education in architecture and environmental design, his formative professional work focused on graphic design, branding, and interactive media development. Mark moved to New York City in the early 2000s and lucked into a moment of expansive adoption of the internet and the explosion of the NYC digital agency world. While co-leading his own brand and identity design studio, a handful of web consulting projects for startups, small agencies, and fashion designers led to roles with Huge (employee #12), Razorfish (lot of travel to Brazil), and Syrup (IYKYK), before he joined R/GA's global flagship.
